Some Northern Virginia legislators deserve significant credit for getting this bill passed as well, particularly Dels. Tom Rust (R-Herndon) and David Albo (R-Springfield) and Sen. Jeannemarie Devolites Davis (R-Vienna), who crafted and carried the Northern Virginia funding portion of the transportation bill two years in a row. Without their willingness to put their political futures on the line… it would not have been successful.
General Assembly Ends
At the beginning of the General Assembly Session, I introduced 27 bills benefiting the citizens of Herndon, Sterling, Oak Hill, and Virginia. I am proud to say that 4 bills have been approved by the Governor, 7 bills were rolled into other bills which were approved by the Governor, and 5 bills have passed in the House and Senate. There are numerous other bills which I have co-patroned which are waiting action by the Governor. These bills cover issues such as transportation, school construction, residential overcrowding illegal immigration, payday lending, and mental health to name a few. As a member of four House Committees (Transportation, Education, Commerce and Labor, and Science and Technology), I reviewed hundreds of bills, sat in countless hours of meetings, and met with numerous citizens all in an effort to make the Commonwealth of Virginia a great place to live. I always look forward to hearing from my constituents on issues that they are interested in. I am proud to serve the citizens of Herndon, Sterling, and Oak Hill. Thank you for giving me this opportunity.
